Cinephile

Free · Windows, Linux and Fire TV

Everything you subscribe to, on one screen.

One catalogue across every service you pay for. Search once, filter the way you actually choose — language, rating, awards, who is in it — and what you pick opens in the service that has it. Cinephile never asks for those logins.

Version 1.0.0. No account needed to use it — one only keeps a second device in step.

Ready for

  • Netflix
  • Prime Video
  • JioHotstar
  • YouTube
  • Apple TV+
  • Zee5
  • Sony LIV

— and any other service your country has, or one of your own.

A title

Everything about it, in one place.

The story, the cast, what it won, which languages it plays in, what it is like, and where to watch it — gathered from TMDB, OMDb and JustWatch so you are not opening four tabs to decide on one film. The trailer plays inside the app, so a maybe costs you ten seconds.

  • IMDb and TMDB side by side
  • Oscars, Emmys, BAFTAs where they were won
  • Watched, and how you rated it — for next time
  • Your own tags: “Weekend watch”, “With family”
A title page in Cinephile: where to watch it and in which languages, ratings, your own tags, the trailer and the cast

On the TV

The same evening, from the sofa.

The Fire TV build is its own app, not a window shrunk down: big cards, few things per screen, everything reachable with the D-pad, and a sound when the highlight moves. Sign it in with a code and your keys, services, languages, watchlist and ratings are already there — nothing typed on a remote.

  • Rows that know which service each title is on
  • Filters made for a remote, not a mouse
  • Surprise me, for when nothing appeals
Cinephile on a Fire TV: rows of large posters grouped by service

The rest of it.

  • One search, every service

Search once and see what each of your services carries, in your country.

  • Filters that match how you choose

Language, genre, year, runtime, rating, certificate, service — the same panel everywhere, savable by name.

  • Original and dubbed

Say which languages you watch in, and whether you want titles made in them, dubbed into them, or both.

  • Surprise me

One title at a time, within your filters, with enough of the story to decide. The last fifteen stay a click behind you.

  • Watchlist and ratings

Save what you mean to watch, mark what you have, leave a mark on it — not for an algorithm, for next time.

  • Your keys, your data

Three free API keys turn the whole app on. Without an account, nothing ever leaves your machine.

Version 1.0.0, free.

Every service you subscribe to, in one catalogue.

Cinephile needs three free API keys — TMDB, OMDb and YouTube — which it walks you through on first run. Want your devices in step? Make an account — it is optional, and only ever holds what the app itself holds.
